A 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Cutchogue and New Suffolk, LI. It maintains the Cutchogue Village Green and Old Burying Ground as a living memorial to the original founders and all residents of Cutchogue and New Suffolk.
On February 26, 2023, 2:00 pm- Mark MacNish, Executive Director of the CNSHC, will be giving a talk entitled “The Orphan Trains, A Local Family’s Tale.” He will be talking about his family’s experience with the Orphan Trains, an experimental social welfare project that operated between 1854 and 1929. The talk is a culmination of years of historical research resulting in his family’s story, which ended in both happiness and tragedy. The talk will be held in the Community Room in the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library and hosted by the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council.
